For me Shinnecock is my adopted life long Tribe. I am thankful and appreciative of my llife long relationship with Shinnecock. I started visiting shinnecock at age 15. 40 plus years later I have life long friends, family, and many great memories. Their annual pow wow is among if not the greatest 3 day event of tribal recognition, history, knowledge, fun I have experienced. Like other pow wows Shinnecock welcomes all people and all tribes to come share in the their experience. This is where I first learned of my own tribe (Taino of the Arawak Nation) the two beautiful children you see are my grand children who are being taught and experiencing their long celebrating tribal lineage, and practices.
